Method for enhancing transport of gasses to tissues

DDFPe increases arterial oxygen tension and muscle oxygen tension in pigs with pulmonary shunt. The effect starts within 1 minute of the beginning of a 30 minute infusion, and lasts for 120 minutes or more. A decline in effect begins 120-180 minutes after the last infusion. Repeated doses resume the effect, though with slightly higher effects that are longer lasting.
